Texas Tech's Graham Harrell misses out on Heisman nod

ORLANDO, Fla. – Texas quarterback Colt McCoy and Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford will represent the Big 12 as Heisman Trophy finalists at Saturday night's announcement in New York, along with Tim Tebow, the Florida quarterback and 2007 Heisman winner.
Nobody needed tarot cards to see that coming.
But Wednesday's announcement surprised some because it didn't include Texas Tech senior quarterback Graham Harrell of Ennis.
Harrell passed for more yards than any of the finalists and led the Red Raiders to an 11-1 season.
Harrell is in Orlando for tonight's The Home Depot/ESPNU College Football Awards and learned the news after meeting with reporters and a hallway chit-chat with McCoy, standing a few feet from Tebow.
"We had a special season," said Harrell, the surgically repaired fingers on his left (non-throwing) hand taped together. "That's what we focused on. ... We won as many games as anyone. ... If we don't get picked, that's the way it goes."
Harrell's coach, Mike Leach, didn't react as calmly.
"If Graham is not invited to the Heisman, they ought to quit giving out the award," he said in a statement. "It is a shameless example of politics ruling over performance."
Harrell said he hoped Tech's progress this season would help Red Raiders earn honors in the future.
"Programs' reputations have a lot to do with that," he said. "Texas Tech has never been a big-name program. Hopefully this year, winning as many big games as we have, Texas Tech can build on that."
The Heisman doesn't use hard science to determine how many invitations it extends to New York. It has invited as few as three and as many as six.
This is the first season since 2001 that all the Heisman finalists are quarterbacks. Bradford and Tebow will meet for the BCS championship Jan. 8 in Miami.
McCoy said if he wins the Heisman, his teammates plan on celebrating the honor. The junior said if he had a vote – as Tebow does as a former Heisman winner – he would vote for Tebow because he admires his leadership style.
Bradford, wearing a large, OU crimson cast on his left hand after surgery Sunday to repair a thumb ligament, took it all in stride.
"I'm going to have as much fun as I can on this trip," the sophomore said. "There's nothing I can do now that's going to change the way it comes out."

AT LEAST........

The Dallas Cowboys won today!! AND T.O. had a GREAT game! You don't have to like him or what he says but when he says things happen when he has the ball in his hands it's TRUE! Thinks do happen when the ball is in his hands....GOOD THINGS.. and when good things happen for T.O. good things happen for THE DALLAS COWBOYS!! When T.O. has a good game The Dallas Cowboys have a good game, when T.O. doesn't have a good game The Dallas Cowboys don't BOTTOM LINE! Romo keep throwing the long ball to T.O. and before you know it we will be beating the giants in the playoffs!

I was watching t.v. earlier today and all of the sudden I didn't hear the twins anymore which usually means they are doing something they shouldn't be so I came around the corner and this is what I saw.....

And Klayton's football team, The Panthers, won their first playoff game Saturday as well! They play in their Superbowl Saturday Dec. 6!

TGIF!

I'm glad it's Friday! This weekend should be a pretty relaxing weekend. Tonight Klayton has already informed me that he wants pancakes and sausage for dinner. This is his favorite meal, he doesn't care when he eats it, he wants it all the time. So I guess tonight we will have breakfast for dinner. Then we have to get in bed early because Klayton has an 8 am football game, we have to be there by 730. But after that we are good to relax at home and watch college football all day. I guess I will cheat Saturday, I want my mom to make something homemade. Sunday, we will head to Grammy and Grampy's for the day and watch NFL football all day. Grammy has been in NY all week so it will be good to see her. It's good to see Grampy too, just saying Grammy has been gone all week. Ben and Klayton are going to the gun show in Fort Worth with Josh, it's the last show until next year. I told Ben he could pick up his Christmas present from there if he really wanted to. I hate guns and don't really want one in my house, but Josh and Ben got their gun license a while ago and all Ben talks about, thinks about, looks at are guns, hunting, Cabellas......! Cowboys play Sunday night against washington...we HAVE TO WIN THIS GAME! This is what our weekend looks like, what are you doing?

HOW IT SHOULD BE!

Now this is how the BCS poll should look as well! For one, because Alabama barely beat LSU and two, Tech killed oklahoma state that every gameday commentator and sport commentator for that matter picked Tech to lose that game! The way they played texas and oklahoma state they deserve to be number 1!!

RED RAIDER GREATNESS, The twins, and a special treat!

CAN YOU SAY 10 AND 0??!! I sure can and that is what Texas Tech is! I love how NOT ONE person in the football world other than TEXAS TECH fans picked them to win over oklahoma state on Saturday. And they KILLED them! If they continue to play as good as they have been, like they did against texas and oklahoma state, I KNOW without a doubt they will beat ou! Here were the twins before we left to go to Shel's and Josh's for the big game! Karlea didn't want to take a picture but I made her that's why she is having a fit in this picture. But didn't they look so cute?

This was Miss Karlea in yet another one of her "PRINCESS" get ups that she loves to wear. I really like this one because it's just one piece and if just slips right on and it's great for her just to play in.

I cheated yesterday so Nan-Nan made a chocolate ice box pie, my favorite Thanksgiving desert. So she made the twins and Klayton a special little treat with her homemade chocolate pudding on the bottom, cool whip, and then topped it off with M&M's, the twins LOVED it and their outfits showed they did. They had chocolate everywhere! But they loved it and that's all that counts!! Thanks Nan-Nan! I didn't even eat a piece of it, I was too full after we went to LOS MOS for dinner. I'm kicking myself now, I should have at least taken 1 bite, but I didn't!! Oh well, I still have Thanksgiving.

TGIF!!

It's Friday! I'm ready for the weekend. Ben is making his famous chicken fried rice tonight (YUMMY)! Klayton is going with his daddy tonight for the whole weekend so pray he doesn 't do anything stupid with him and watches him and keeps him safe!! We will probably bathe the twins tonight so they are clean and ready for the weekend. Tomorrow we will probably watch a little bit of college football at the house and then we are going to Shel and Josh's tomorrow night for the TEXAS TECH vs. oklahoma state game. We are going to make good homeade sandwiches with good black peppered turkey from the deli and all the fixings with homeade pico...sounds good! Sunday we are going to Grammy and Grampy's for a while, I have a hair appointment at 1, then we are going to go eat at LOS MOS tomorrow evening (my cheat day)! I hate when the Cowboys are on their bye weekend because we don't get to watch them, HOWEVER, I think we needed this bye badly. Hopefully we come back the next weekend like THE DALLAS COWBOYS that started the season! Everyone have a great weekend! GO RED RAIDERS!!!!

HOW ABOUT THOSE RED RAIDERS!!

Oh what a game it was! I knew from the beginning that Tech would do what most ALL other Texas Tech Fans KNEW they could do...BEAT UT!

They came out playing so great! I mean they dominated all of the 1rst half. They deserved to win that game!

Look at the numbers that Harrell put up!! GREATNESS in every aspect!

Not only can anything happen on any given day but Texas Tech is a great team this year, they didn't get lucky...they played TEXAS TECH football and WON the game and should have the RESPECT of every team in the Big 12, not to mention in College football! It will be a great ending to a perfect weekend when THE DALLAS COWBOYS BEAT the ny giants.....ok well maybe I'm still a little hyped up from the Tech game but you never know what could happen on ANY GIVEN SUNDAY....right??

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

We had a full fun weekend...and the Cowboys won, as well as Tech and Texas:) What a game it will be Saturday...GO RED RAIDER'S!!!! Karlea and Karson at the park on Friday. We had lunch with daddy then we went to Ross ( I love that store) and bought the twins some boots for when it gets cold and then we headed to the park for the rest of the afternoon!

The twins looking on as Klayton's football team got drummed against a team they SHOULD have beat! You can see daddy in the top right waving at the babies! After the game we had lunch at Snuffer's in Southlake town square, went to Cental Market to find soda with NO ASPARTANE in it but it was GROSS, then we headed to Jackson's soccer game at 6 and went back to Shel and Josh's cook out and watch Penn St. and Ohio St. play then headed home!

TEXAS IS #1!

The BSC poll finally came out and TEXAS IS #1! They beat ou which was GREAT and what timing...when ou was #1...greatness! The only other team I would rather see at #1 would be Texas Tech. They are doing really well, too, they are #8! I hope both teams will still be undefeated when they play each other. When Tech and Texas play each other it's always a GREAT game, I think if both were undefeated it would make for an even greater game! Thanks Aunt Jackie for Klayton's Texas jersey, he loved it and it looked so good on him! We love you!
